The objects with the Minifigures are difficult to detect using the Distance Sensor.

Make sure they are positioned with the back of the structure they are in facing towards the Distance Sensor. In other words the Grabber approach the Minifigure from the back. It needs to sense the 'flatness' of the structure that the minifigure is in - rather than the curves of the minifigure.
